Welcome to Himig. These terms govern your use of our platform — the courses, live classes, community, and interactive tools we've built for musicians like you. Please read them. They're written to be clear, not to bury you in legalese.
Himig is an online music education platform operated from the Philippines. Our mission is to protect and advance human musicianship — real skills, real community, real connection. When we say "we," "us," or "Himig," we mean the company and team behind this platform.
For questions about these terms, contact us at: hello@himig.co
To access most features, you need an account. You must provide accurate information when signing up — your name and email address. You're responsible for keeping your password secure and for everything that happens under your account.
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you're under 18, a parent or guardian should review these terms with you.
We can suspend or close an account that violates these terms or harms the community. We'll try to warn you first unless the violation is serious.
Subscriptions begin on the date payment is processed. There is no free trial period for student subscriptions. You may cancel at any time through your account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle, and you retain access until that date. Teacher subscriptions include a 14-day trial period during which no charges are made; if not cancelled before day 15, the subscription converts to the standard monthly rate.
After the trial, a paid subscription is required to access courses, live classes, and the full community. Pricing depends on your plan (Student or Teacher) and billing cycle (monthly or annual). Current prices are displayed on our Subscribe page.
Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your card details. For users in the Philippines, payment in Philippine Peso (₱) is supported.
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period. You can cancel at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you keep access until then.
We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods, except where required by applicable law. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us within 14 days and we'll review it with you.
Some live classes are free for all members. Others may be offered by teachers at an additional cost, purchased as tickets. Ticket prices are set by the class creator and are shown clearly before purchase.
Classes take place via video conferencing (built-in Jitsi room or external link provided by the instructor). We are not responsible for technical issues on third-party video platforms.
If a live class is cancelled by the instructor, we will do our best to facilitate a refund of any ticket cost paid. Reach out to us if this happens.
All courses, lessons, and materials on Himig belong to the instructors who created them or to Himig where noted. A subscription gives you personal, non-transferable access to content — not ownership.
You may not copy, redistribute, record, or resell any content from the platform. This includes course videos, sheet music, lesson notes, and any other materials.
Content you post in the community — posts, comments, shared music — remains yours. By posting, you give Himig a non-exclusive licence to display it on the platform. We will not sell your content to third parties.
Teachers on Himig go through an application process. Approval is at our discretion. Once approved, teachers may create courses, host paid live classes, and maintain a public educator profile.
Teachers are responsible for the accuracy and quality of the content they create. Himig reserves the right to remove content that violates our community standards or these terms.
Revenue sharing terms for teacher course sales are communicated separately during the application process.
Himig exists to celebrate and protect human musicianship. We expect everyone in our community to treat each other with respect. The following are not allowed:
We reserve the right to remove posts or accounts that violate these standards.
Himig is provided "as is." We work hard to keep the platform running smoothly, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted service. We are not liable for technical outages, data loss, or indirect damages arising from your use of the platform.
Music education outcomes depend on your practice and effort. We cannot guarantee specific results from using our courses or tools.
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we'll notify you by email or by a notice in the app. Continued use of the platform after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of the Philippines, unless otherwise required by applicable local law in your jurisdiction.
